NEWS ADVISORY

 

 

Governor Linda Lingle will deliver the keynote address at the Hawaii State PTSA legislative conference.

 

The event will be held this Saturday, Sept. 10 at the State Capitol room 225, from 8:30 am to 4:30pm

 

The governor is scheduled to speak from 9:15 am to 9:30am.  A panel discussion will follow.  Among the guest speakers for the panel:

  • Schools Superintendent Pat Hamamoto
  • Board of Education chairman Breene Harimoto
  • Sen. Norman Sakamoto, chair of Senate Education Committee
  • Rep. Roy Takumi, chair of House Education Committee
  • Carl Takamura of Hawaii Business Roundtable
  • Nani Medeiros of the Governor’s Education Committee

 

The afternoon session will be devoted to identifying and listing the organization’s priorities for the 2006 session legislative session.

 

Hawaii State PTSA, is the state’s largest child advocacy organization. With a membership of over 22,000 members, the HSPTSA is open to anyone who is concerned about the education, health, safety and well-being of children and youth.
